"Improving the environment is now a business imperative for leading companies across the world. Carbon emissions and environmental issues are going to affect how companies operate in the future. We at WNS recognise this and are committed to becoming a carbon neutral company," said Neeraj Bhargava, CEO, WNS Global Services. "The launch of the Green Lean Sigma Program marks the first step towards realising our vision. As part of this programme, we will embed Green Lean Sigma into our business processes and collaborate with our other stakeholders to fulfill our responsibility."
Roger Carr, chairman, Centrica plc, an integrated energy company, joined WNS at its Mumbai headquarters to launch the WNS Green Lean Sigma Program. "Centrica seeks to decrease its overall impact on climate change through efficient energy-use in its own operations and by supporting other businesses to do the same," said Carr.
The WNS Green Lean Sigma Program involves the following steps: business intelligence to leverage technology to drive toward becoming a paperless office; quality management systems to ensure environment conformance; continual improvement through resource optimisation and energy conservation projects; and communication to sensitise employees on the need and ways to be energy efficient. |
