Tuesday, July 06, 2010:  Altitude Software, the leading independent global contact center solutions vendor, announces the release of Altitude vBox 4.0, a new version of Altitude’s full-featured SIP Server optimized to enable organizations of all sizes to deploy powerful, state-of-the art multimedia IP contact center solutions on a short time-frame.
The Altitude vBox is based on Asterisk, the world’s most popular open source IP PBX. It’s an infrastructure solution optimized by Altitude Software (a Digium Call Center ACD partner) to enhance contact centers’ performance, scalability, usability, and enable direct integration with Altitude uCI, Altitude’s customer interaction management suite. The Altitude vBox new release adds:

· High end scalability including support up to 2000 agents;
· Proven fault tolerance with very fast recovery times, achieving increased availability;
· Advanced management features, including easy-to-install processes and administration tools;
· A revamped GUI with centralized configuration and management.

According to the Gartner Report “A Technology Framework for Enterprise Unified Communications” (Bern Elliot, January 2010, G00173410) “voice is the most important real-time communication channel. Enterprise voice is typically delivered through a PBX or an IP-PBX. However, the voice area is evolving rapidly, with a wide range of software-based solutions entering the market”

Altitude vBox 4.0 installations can start with just a few seats and grow to meet any organization´s specific needs, enhancing features and functionalities along the way. IP-enabled agents can get started using Altitude Unified Desktop, an out-of-the-box multimedia agent desktop that includes an integrated SIP soft-phone, as well as the ability to integrate any custom desktop application or a third party CRM application, in order to provide data capabilities and multimedia interaction handling.
