"When Kevin Comolli of Accel Partners, the lead venture capital investor in QlikTech and the lead investor in Alfresco reached out to me, I welcomed this exciting opportunity," said Lars. "Alfresco is in a similar position to where QlikTech was just a few short years ago, with a huge market opportunity. With its unique combination of enterprise-proven cloud, mobile and on-premise content management, Alfresco has all the components to help enterprises navigate the shift to mobile and cloud productivity. Enterprises don't need a Dropbox alternative - they need Alfresco."
Lars credits the success of QlikTech to its consensus-driven management style, which capitalizes on the energy, enthusiasm and ideas of all employees. He is also recognized as an authority on driving business growth through company culture, employee empowerment and innovation.
"We asked Lars to join our board of directors because he and QlikTech have already travelled the same road we are on," said John Powell, CEO of Alfresco. "Lars has the experience of rapidly growing a global technology brand and building toward a successful public offering, which we intend to do. More importantly, Lars and I share a common view on the importance of building a sustainable and positive company culture that can outperform the competition."
Alfresco continues to deliver having come off the heels of a record year. The company has added536 new enterprise customers and 71 employees in 2011 and now has over 2,300 enterprise customers globally with over 6.6 million people using Alfresco Enterprise, Cloud, Mobile and Community to manage over 3.3 billion documents.
"At Accel, we view Lars and Alfresco as a perfect match," said Kevin Comolli, Accel Partner, Alfresco board member and investor. "We at Accel have had the pleasure of working with Lars for the past eight years to build QlikTech from its European heritage into a global, multi-billion dollar public company. Lars is a world-class enterprise software CEO and we are privileged to have him join the global brand and experienced management team of Alfresco as part of the board while the company prepares for its initial public offering.”
Prior to joining QlikTech, Lars held several positions as CFO at companies such as ScandStick and Resurs Finance. He has an MBA from the University of Lund, Sweden and a Degree in Engineering from the Technical College in Helsingborg.
